Moving target, cont.

A new study conducted by the Newsom Clinic in the U.K., and published in the journal Menopause, supports the idea that individual women absorb estradiol at different rates, and may require more of a bespoke approach. 1,508 women were included in the study, which stated, “Limited data suggest that up to 20% of women are ‘poor absorbers’ of transdermal estradiol.” You can read the full report here, and there’s a good summary of the findings in this IG post from author Kate Muir.
More food for thought if you find yourself backsliding with your symptoms at any point, or if you feel as if you’re not getting enough relief even at the highest pre-determined, prescribed doses. Discuss with your doctor if you might be a good candidate for off-licensed doses of estradiol.
